Ethanol Railroad
Not what Ethanol travels on but rather what Ethanol runs over.

For those interested in the Alexandria Indiana Ethanol Plant proposed site
Within this site constructed for the situation in Alexandria Indiana (October 2006)

If you have any questions regarding this information please feel free to contact info@ethanolrailroad.com

We willingly accept all input, so we are sure to set the record straight.

Please also note that none of the affected parties are against the production of ethanol, but rather would like not to have the plant effect our daily lives as dramatically as the current proposal does.

The following links will lead you to the Air Quality Permit Application pages from Broin available at the Alexandria Public Library.

59 Pages from the Permit (pdf)
Pages 1-20  (pdf)
Pages 21-40 (pdf)
Pages 41-59 (pdf)

Best way to find out what all of the emissions mean to you is to look them up at http://www.epa.gov or use the links on the Emissions page of this website.

Until we get answers related to the actual emissions, we do not believe that they are safe.

Broin stated that instead of rolling back the Clean Water and Clean Air Act, they were trying to get the Federal Government to consider them a food processor, which would allow them to not be limited by the 100 tons per year but rather 250 tons per year of each emission.

If you would like to see more of the Air Quality Permit Application, it will be available at the Alexandria Public Library for a couple of weeks.

IDEM is in charge of approving the application.
