Process Water Map with Wetlands all along Pipe Creek
If putting water into the wetland on the property is wrong, then how is it right to put 300,000 gallons a day into Pipe Creek Wetlands?

What will be the effect on the ecological and bacterial composition of the creek and the wetlands during drought, winter, or heavy rain seasons?

Take a look at the map showing the wetlands and floodplains for the area.  300,000 gallons may sound like a lot of water, but during normal intermittent rain season, the water is not necessarily the problem.  The most problematic factor is that the water is bacteria logically cleaner than water running off of fields into the creek, therefore changing the bacterial composition of the water on a constant basis.  The vegetation and wildlife will be affected.

Let your voice ring out!  Many of the neighbors around the Ethanol Plant would like to invite those who oppose the ethanol plant to construct and display signage on their property for the Governor to see when he makes his visit soon.

Many communities have welcomed the ethanol plant into their industrial parks with very open arms.  But, our location is not the same as others.

If you would like to place a sign in the area, please send an email to info@ethanolrailroad.com with what you will be saying on your sign, and we will be happy to get your sign in the ground near the plant.

If you would like to allow signage in your yard, please send your address and contact information to info@ethanolrailroad.com  We will contact you and let you know when signs are being submitted for placement in your yard.  These signs will not always be in your yard.  The goal is to have them in the ground when the Governor comes to town.

Wetlands converted to Ethanol Refinery

If it looks like a wetlands and functions like a wetlands, then it should be an industrial site.

click the image for the large version of Ultimate Ethanol wallpaper for your computer.  These may be the last images of the over 250 acres of natural wetlands lost to Ultimate Ethanol Refinery to be built in Alexandria Indiana.  With all of the areas suitable for an ethanol plant throughout the country, local politicians and money hungry farmers have determined that the best sacrifice is the local wetlands.  The wetlands did not dry after 10 days since a 2 inch rain.  See the pictures here.

CAUTION:
Unless a business makes additional money for the city or county, you may want to watch out.  Taxes may not be enough anymore.  Three 30+ year old businesses and 40 residences have been sacrificed to make way for a new ethanol plant and 240 semi grain trucks worth of traffic per day along with greatly increased train traffic.

Please everyone must use extreme caution (even more than we already do) when traveling in the vicinity of Alexandria.

The local government is convinced that the addition of an ethanol plant will create a greater attraction to our currently quiet but dangerous city.

GOOD NEIGHBOR SUGGESTIONS -
DO ANY OF THE DECISION MAKERS HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE THE PLANT BETTER FOR EVERYONE?

Please also note that none of the affected parties are against the production of ethanol, but rather would like not to have the plant effect our daily lives as dramatically as the current proposal does.

Someone in the list above was quoted:
“As a farmer, myself, I came directly from the tractor, through the shower to be here,” said Madison County Commissioner, John Richwine, R-North District. “I look forward to delivering a load of corn.”

But how can the Commissioner vote on the proposed recommendation to
pass the ethanol plant?

A lot of confusion and contradiction plague the matters of location, legalities, regard for quality of life for the entire city of Alexandria, but MONEY TALKS LOUDER THAN ANY CONCERN.

READ THE PAPER??? WHY?
One-side biased reporting just as done in the old Soviet Union has become the 'norm' for local papers.
As Ultimate Ethanol and Broin turn a lake full of dirt into a plant that even the project workers have their doubts in, the local residents are still under attack from the local papers.  What is to become of a town and county that are so desperate for some money, that they would endanger their residents with floods of water, trains, and truck traffic?  The same town by the way that chased away the opportunity for having new schools just to turn around and pour millions of dollars into renovations of old schools.

Why is everyone so worked up?  Now you can read for yourself the pages from the Air Quality Permit Application that caused questions from the concerned neighbors and has only resulted in poor answers that don't even use the emissions included in the Broin application.

We are not alone -> Milford and Syracuse Indiana are going to stop the addition of an ethanol refinery in their town due to the same concerns  voiced by the residents of the proposed site northeast of Alexandria, Indiana.  Find out more here.

Why is the EPA working on Aquifer investigation, when we were led to believe that one part per billion would not kill you?
The answer is: when the EPA studied the travel of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene, it was determined that they don't degrade as rapidly as they would like to see.  Read the Final Report of a 4 year study

Alexandria take the time to read through this site.  The information is overwhelming but can be summed up by saying that the negatives far outweigh the positives.

The ethanol plant placement is illogical and unhealthy for our air and water supply.

The increases in truck and train traffic will be doubled.

There are many local companies the city can work with to create new jobs (over 75).  The local government said that it is very hard to get new business in our city, so we add a business that makes our city more difficult to travel through that should allow us to attract more businesses.

GOOD POLITICS: WHAT ARE THE BEST SOLUTIONS FOR YOUR PEOPLE - IN ORDER TO LEARN WHAT IS BEST, ONE MUST ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS AND THEN BE READY TO ADMIT THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE ANSWERS - ASK MORE QUESTIONS, THEN GET HELP FROM MULTIPLE UNBIASED PROFESSIONALS AND TALK TO THE NEIGHBORS PERSONALLY TO GET THEIR INPUTS  - ASK MORE QUESTIONS - DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF ANSWERS THAT MAKE THOSE CLOSEST TO THE INFECTION HAPPY TO ACCEPT THE CHANGE - THEN YOU WILL HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THE PUBLIC THAT TAKES CARE OF ALL CONCERNS.

BAD POLITICS: RAILROADING YOUR DECISION BASED ON MONEY DOWN THE THROATS OF THOSE WHO VOTED FOR YOU WITHOUT ANY REGARD FOR THEIR QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.  MUDSLINGING AGAINST THOSE WHO WANT ANSWERS ABOUT IMPORTANT ISSUES REGARDING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF YOUR CITY.  USING DIVERSIONARY TACTICS TO DIVIDE THE OPPOSITION AND CREATING STORIES THAT DIVERT THE ATTENTION OF THE PUBLIC AWAY FROM THE HEALTH CONCERNS CREATED BY THE ETHANOL PLANT. USING EXCUSES AND NON-RELATED ANSWERS TO CREATE MORE CONFUSION AMONG THE MASSES UNTIL YOU CAN GET YOUR IDEA PASSED - SO NO ONE CAN STOP IT.
